Baker is at it again

   Some of us are killing ourselves trying to keep our heads above water in this crappy economy, wages are tanking, full time jobs are hard to come by but the governor want to increase wages for his council to 700 per week. this council meets once a week for an hour, for a paycheck and full benefits......Good Ole Charlie strikes again...right now in Massachusetts the only job worth having is a job in government, paid for by the rest of us who are slowly sinking.
  This is especially bothersome to me as I was recently laid off, I have a cerification that google says whould bring me in 92k a year but I made 40k last year and the jobs out there now are paying even less as companies take advantage of the poor economy, the unemployment rate hasnt really dropped, 1/3 of the workforce isnt in the stats because they gave up and god knows what they are doing for money

I started a few blogs but never followed through. Recently I was laid off and I dont have the excuses I used before. Like most people I believe I have something to say, though unlike most people I know I dance on the edges of sanity. So today, July 12, 2015 it was hot, and I wanted to go the beach but avoid them on the weekends, I realized that boating is something my wife and I would like but something always comes up.....these days you can get a zodiac like boat for about 300 and a 5 horespower motor on craigslist for another couple of hundred, so why havent I done it??? well bills always seem to come up at the worst imaginable time, and the corporate society we find ourselves in isnt friendly to people that want to do outdoorsy things that they cant make money off of. I have been camping a night or 2 every year in the appalachian trail on the border of the Green Mountains. People dont think it is a vacation, why? Because I am not spending thousands of dollars for the trip???? Too often these days THEY would have us believe a vacation is something you save for, it costs at least 2500 for a week or it isnt valid. Well I for one am sick of buying into the lie that the American dream has become. THEY think we are imbeciles that THEY can guide into their sales pitches and BS. I, for one, wont do it. I want ot get off the grid completely and being laid off may be the start of that, Start a business thats below the radar and fall out of THEIR site.
Tomorrow I am going kayaking on the Conneticut River, the only cost, a few bucks for gas to get ther and from the peace and serenity of the river I will drift by a 6 flags park, where parking alone is almost a days wages. I dont want a vacation that takes days to recover from, I want peace and tranquility.....Tomorrow I will let you know how it went and get this blog in gear!
